THE OFFSPING
Rock En Seine Festival
St Cloud, France
August 29 , 2009

As I got
into the Festival, The Offsping were starting their show
with the tune You're gonna go far.
I’ve seen
The Offspring once before, it was in 2001, when they were opening for AC/DC at the Stade de France.
To be honest it was
a really bad show, so I wasn’t really expecting anything from The
Offspring tonight.
Well, I got a nice surprise!
The band had a good sound, very clear and not too loud.
They were playing as night came down, and they had a nice
lightshow.

And more important: the music.
They
played well and they did a good concert.
Very punk actually, playing
fast songs one after the other with few speeches between the tunes.
The setlist included their hits Why Don't You Get
A Job, Self Esteem and Come Out And
Play.
Those tunes were enough to make the audience sing, dance,
scream and jump.
So what can I say? The
Offspring was a very pleasant surprise. After 8 years they really
have improved on stage.
Now, time to see the band I came
here for: the long awaited reunion of Faith No More! |
