After Steelwing and Bullet, there was one more band to play tonight: the headliners Rock The Nation Tour: Grand Magus.

I had seen this band once before, back in 2006, and I remember a slow doom metal concert. Well, Grand Magus don’t really play the same style anymore: They’re more Heavy Metal than doom nowadays, and that’s really good news!

To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from Grand Magus tonight, especially after the classic heavy metal of Steelwing and the amazing energy of Bullet. I was not in the mood for Doom Metal.

But things have changed. From the moment they came on stage, with the music of Conan The Barbarian, I knew this show was going to be special!

This band went from Doom Metal to a more classic Heavy Metal style and a touch of rock’n’roll. I didn’t expect such a good result!

Their songs are strong, with loud drums and heavy bass lines. They play with energy and passion, and it the end, it sound really intense.

Most tunes on the setlist were mid-tempo songs, but the also played some old school and slower songs.

Sometimes, JB Christoffersson talked to the crowds in French, like when he introduced the song Wolf's Return as Le Retour du Loup.

The song Hammer Of The North was dedicated to the girls in the audience.

Grand Magus made sure that we knew that Sweden was conquering Europe with this Rock The Nation Tour. Most of the bands playing on this tour were Swedish and Grand Magus played in front of a huge flag of Sweden the band’s logo.

He pointed that there wasn’t much people attending, but that wasn’t a problem: “We are few, but we are strong... and we have an Iron will”.

The concert ended with a memorable version of Iron Will, but it seemed so short and we all wanted more.

To sum up, the first concert of 2012 was a very good one; A perfect way to start the year.
Nevertheless, it was really a shame that so little people showed up.
