After that great Where Angels Suffer concert, back to the main stage with another band from the San Francisco Bay Area: one of my favourite Thrash Metal bands, Death Angel.

This was a special concert, as the band wasn't touring right now. It was the only European concert or the summer 2011.

Mark told us that they flew from the USA the day before, just to play this only concert in Europe for the Belgian fans.

Death Angel on stage means shaking your head and shaking your head.

These guys headbangued during most of the show... and the audience responded accordingly... it one point there were so many crowdsurfers that it looked like it was raining people.

After Buried Alive, Mark said "Merci, Dankeschön, Thank you!".

He forgot that Flemmish is the official language of this part of Belgium but he was quickly forgiven: he made a toast to the festival and the fans by drinking a shot of Bombay Sapphire Gin.

The setlist was as long as it can be! With 13 songs, it was even longer than in Paris last winter.

Death Angel played for 70 minutes, quite long for a festival show. Nevertheless some classics such as Voracious Souls or Thrashers were not played, but well, we can't have them all at once!

The problem with this concert was the sound, which wasn't really good.
This is a problem that most bands at the Alcatraz Fest had to deal with.

After the show I was kind of still hungry... I enjoyed the show, but it certainly could have been better.

The next scheduled band was Vicious Rumors.
