I have heard that Sweden Rock organisers didn’t want them to play there because their music is too soft; but in 2007 a band was cancelled and Gotthard was added on the last minute to the Sweden Rock bill. They had such a big success that they were invited again to Sweden Rock 2008. |

This was my first Gotthard concert. It still was early when the band hit the main stage of the fest, but fans were there for them.
The band played a complete set for an hour and 15 minutes, although I’ve heard that Gotthard plays for 2 hours when they’re on tour. Anyway, that’s long for one of the first bands of a festival. There were of course a few ballads and slow songs but, just like with Tesla, nobody seemed to complain. |

Steve Lee made the audience sing, especially during Deep Purple’s cover Hush. Everyone in the audience who might still be asleep began to headbang after a few Gotthard songs. |

Leo Leoni brought several guitars, including double Gibson SG. It’s always impressive to see one of those. |

My first Gotthard show was something unforgettable. Gotthard put us in a Rock n’Roll mood, so we went to drink the first beer of the day before the Apocalyptica show. |
