We arrived in Muscat late at night, but our bags did not made the connection...Well not everything can be perfect. We decided to go to the hotel and wait for the news... I managed to find a special rate for this: The Mighty Al Bustan Palace, one of the best hotels in the Middle East and certainly in the world. It was first build by the Sultan to accomodate its guests, but now it's part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group. |

We just could not enjoy the private beach nor the swimming pool because our swimsuits were in our lost bags, but of course I can’t complaint! At least we were there!
All buidings are white, and it gets really hot and dry. We hadn’t slept that much the night before, so we kept the hotel room at the Al Bustan until 6pm. We spent our second night in another hotel, the Golden Oasis, and the next day we left early to the airport, see if the found our bags. I would have loved to visit more of the city, we were really tired and lost a lot of time looking for our bags.

This is Al Bustan Palace's beach. It's lovely and it was empty: there were not many guests at the hotel because the summer is really hot in Muscat, about 45°C or more. Winter is actually the high season, when it's a bit cooler. We would have loved to bathe, but our swinsuits were on the lost bags... |
Muscat’s dramatic mountain scenery is just beautiful
