Nightwish fans had been waiting for 11 years to see the band in Colombia again, and there was a lot of excitement about this show.
The concert was originally scheduled at Teatro Metropol but due to high demand it was moved to the larger Royal Center, and the place was packed!
Delain was the opening band and they were given a very warm welcome, but everyone went crazy as Nightwish walked on stage.
The stage set was something like "back to the roots" for Nightwish. No pyro, no fire, smaller lightshow, just a few images on a large screen on the back every now and then. No artifacts, it was a night of pure music and eveybody enjoyed it.
Everyone in the band looked really happy to be here, you could tell by the smile in their faces and the spontaneous speeches from Floor and Marco.
I think the setlist was really good even if some old school classics were missing, especially Wish I Had An Angel, which is one of the greatest Nightwish songs ever.
Some of the best moments of the evening were My Walden, Storytime and I Want My Tears Back.
Stargazers unchained eurphoria among the crowds, and it was followed by an amazing version of Sleeping Sun. With these tunes Floor demostrated that she can sing the lines as Tarja but she doesn't need to, she adds her own personality to the songs and the results is awesome.
I have a lot of respect for Tarja and Anette but in my humble opinion, Floor is the best, or at least the most versatile singer Nightwish ever had.
Those were already my thoughts the previous time I saw the band, and they were confirmed tonight.
Another great moment was The Islander, half of the song was performed by Marco Hietala alone.
During the whole show the response of the crowds was amazing, singing the songs and holding a sign reading My Love Will be In You during Ghost Love Score.
Floor held high a flag of Colombia at the end of the concert and looked moved while thanking the crowds. Everyone was expecting a great show and that's exactly what we had.
This was definitely an evening to remember!
