There’s no doubt that The Ramones are one of most iconic Rock bands that ever existed. Sadly, they’ve gone too soon, and only Marky Ramone is still wandering this earth, keeping the spirit of the band alive.

I was very excited about tonight, as I’d never seen Marky Ramone before. Moreover, he came with the former singer of another legendary punk rock band: Michale Graves from The Misfits!

The concert was supposed to start at 8pm, but it began way later. The Colombian band Triple X opened the show and for some 45 minutes they gave us a good dose of Punk, Rock and Blues.

Around 11:30pm Marky and the boys got on stage, ready to deliver a pure rock'n'roll show!

Seriously, this was one of the most joyful shows I’ve seen! It was a small intimate concert from a band that gives it all in front of a very dedicated audience.
The relatively poor lightshow actually helped giveing the show a special atmosphere, a feeling of closeness with the band, far from the typical a huge rockstar stadium show.

The band played more than 30 songs from The Ramones, and that’s exactly what everyone was expecting. Most of them started with the classic “1,2,3,4” shout, said by bass player Alejandro Tannen.
On guitars, the Argentinean Marcelo Gallo played perfectly those memorable riffs.

I was extremely surprised by Michale Graves’ performance. I didn’t know he had such a versatile voice. Not only he honoured Joey Ramone by singing those songs, but he also made them his own.
Later, he played alone on stage two very personal versions of Misfits songs on acoustic guitar.
Marky even stated that Michale is “the best thing The Misfits ever had.”

Behind his drum kit, Marky did his best performance of all the Ramones classic songs. Those songs are inside him and no one can do betther than him. It doesn't matter that he wasn’t an original member, he was the Ramones drummer during most of their career.

I never saw the Ramones live, but Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg is the closest you can get to a Ramones show.
They have the spirit, they have the attitude, and they have the songs.

After two full hours of the finest Punk Rock on earth, we all had a smile in our face.
It was a memorable up-close performance. The show ended at 1AM. That might seem late, but it was a Friday night, and it was a Punk Rock show after all!
