Puerto Nariño is the second municipality of the Amazon department, despite the fact that there are only about 7500 inhabitants.

The town is nicknamed "Pesebre Natural de Colombia", which translates something like "The natural manger of Colombia", reminding the Nativity scene.

Puerto Nariño is only accessible by boat. The use of motorized vehicles is forbidden, so it's a real pedestrian town.
