Israel: Tiberias

Tiberias is the big city of The Galilee. It’s surrounded by a beautiful natural scenery and many historical places.
The city lies on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Tiberias Lake.
It’s a very popular resort town, full of hotels and Israeli holidaymakers. It seemed that few foreigners choose to stay in Tiberias, as in most restaurants there was no menu in English and we heard few people talking other languages than Hebrew.
Actually we spent quite little time in the city and didn’t visit all the historical places there. We used it as a base to explore the area. |

We slept at the Tiberias Hostel, which was very nice. From the outside the buildings seems a bit run-down, but it’s actually very clean, the staff is helpful, and they have probably the cheapest beds in town.
Absolotely recommended. |
