The Second Coming: Egypt, Israel and the Palestinian Territories
Via Poland and Gemany
Summer 2008St. Catherine Monastery
|
We had planned to get to St Catherine Monastery by public transport and then on to Taba, but the schedules didn’t fit well, and also we had our bags.
We managed to arrange a fair price with this taxi driver that got us from Dahab to the hotel every night.

|
He came to the hotel in the morning, we visited the monastery, we had lunch in Nuweiba and dropped at the hotel we’ve booked in Taba.
He was a very cool guy and, b y the way, as we were three travellers, it also went cheaper and easier to get to these places by car. |
|
When you arrive at Ste Catherine Monastery the first thing you see is all the tourist buses coming for day tours from Sharm El Sheik or elsewhere in the Sinai.
There’s even an ATM near the entrance, which is quite surrealistic: an ATM in the middle of the desert… |
