After the concerts from Edguy and Doro, one more German artist was performing on Paris this month: Udo Dirkschneider.

U.D.O. was on tour to promote his latest record, Rev-Raptor.

I had seen U.D.O. before but only at summer festivals. This was the first time I was seeing the band headlining a concert.
By the way, this summer I had the chace to see U.D.O. at the Alcatraz Festival, and hi set was one of the best of the whole fest!!
I was expecting a world class concert, and that's exactly what we got!.

The stage at the Divan du Monde is quite small, but this didn't prevent U.D.O. to bring a huge lightshow. They brought their own light panels and spots, that really looked like a big production.

They had a good sound and from the begining, Udo and his band set everyone in the mood: a real Heavy Metal evening was coming next!

The people couldn't stand still, we were al singing with our fists in the air. There were even a couple of crowdsurfers that stood up for almost an entire song.

Some of the best moments of the evening were Dominator and Man and Machine.

Quite strange, they didn't play Holy and Animal House, two of U.D.O.'s best known songs. Anyway, with so many good songs in so many albums, they can't play them all...

I think they should have played another song instead of a drum solo.

The setlist also included a few immortal clasics from Accept.
Princess Of The Night was the most acclaimed song: it was magic when everyone was singing during the solo parts!

As for me, I loved hearing Livin' On A Frontline and Screamin For A Love-Bite.

Udo doesn't move much on stage but his presence is imposing. He goes to the rear of the stage during the solos, instead of taunting the crowds. But when he gets to the front to sing, everyones is staring at him, trying to sing along.

There were not many speeches, besides the usual thanks, but it was not a problem at all, so everyone could concentrate on the music.

I think the band is very solid right now: they play the songs faultless, with a unique vibe and energy.

The show ended with the two big classics Metal Heart and Balls To The Wall, and the whole crowd sing as loud as they could.

This was a memorable concert, a real highlight: One whole night singing metal hymns.
