After the thrash metal discharge that Forbidden gave us, time for some german Heavy Metal with U.D.O.

This was one of the best concerts of the day!

I had only seen U.D.O. once before, at Bang Your Head Festival 2003. Some of my friends saw the band at the Hellfest 2010 and they were dispaointed, so they were not expecting too much today.

Big mistake! U.D.O. came on stage to shut everyone's mouth!

U.D.O. was one of the few bands at the Alcatraz Fest to have a very good sound. Nevertheless, it was also very loud.

The lightshow was dominated by green and blue colours.
I've you've seen the movie Green Lantern, well it felt like being part of it.

The hall in front of the main stage quickly turned into a big party.
An army of headbangers were singing loud while Igor and Stefan played their powerful riffs.

The songs were played one after the other and Udo made only one speech during the whole show.

Quite a few Accept classics made their way into the setlist. Maybe even too many of them.

U.D.O. has a very long career wiith several albums and good songs. Now that Accept is back, what's the point in playing so many of their songs? I think he should play more songs of his own.

That said, the Accept songs were highlights and they were magnifically interpreted.

Everyone at Alcatraz Fest knew when to sing on tunes like Ballls To The Wall, Metal Heart or Princess Of The Night.

Those were absolutely magical moments, but they were not the only ones: Animal House or Man and Machine for example were also unforgettable.

U.D.O. played one of the best shows of the fest, and the good news is that he will be on tour this automn.
