Wake up early for the last day of the Sweden Rock Festival 2008. Two bands I like were playing at noon, so I had just the time to take a quick and very cold shower, have a Red Bull and some cookies for breakfast. I chose to see Stormwarrior but could catch Lizzy Borden's last songs. |
Stormwarrior had Kai Hansen on vocals for half of the show, allowing Helloween fans to hear songs from the early days that Gamma Ray and Helloween don’t play anymore. It’s weird to see Kai on stage without his guitar, but it’s just great to hear songs live such as Murderer, Victim Of Fate and Judas. They also play the classics “Ride The Sky” and “I Want Out”, which are often played by both Gamma Ray and Helloween, but it’s a great pleasure to hear these tunes live. |
I felt like seeing a Paul DiAnno show, where he plays some Iron Maiden songs that fans never get to hear anymore those days. But Stormwarrior is not a Kai Hansen solo project and Kai has now his own band and doesn’t need to play those songs to sell out his concerts. I respect Paul DiAnno a lot, and I would love to hear him play some more songs from his solo albums. But unfortunately most fans prefer him to play just old Iron Maiden stuff. |
Kai went backstage and came back with a leather cap: “I need this one to play the next song”, and the band started “Heavy metal Is The Law”. I guess he was referring to Rod Halford. |
During Helloween’s “Rabbit Don’t Come Easy” Tour 2003 the band started the show with the song “Starlight”, which was an unforgettable moment and a great surprise. So, we’re very luck to have a band like Stormwarrior to hear all these great songs live, and the best part of it is that they do it with Kai Hansen... Share on Facebook Bookmark Google |
