Wille and the Bandits at the Olympia Hall in Paris France

Wille and the Bandits was the opening band for Status Quo tonight.
This nice trio combined some powerful drums, a groovy bass and slide accoustic guitars.
Original, and not bad at all!

Now, it's been two years since the last time Status Quo played in Paris.
It was at the Casino de Paris, for the Pictures 40 years Of Hits Tour.

The band published a new album this year, called Quid Pro Quo.
Last summer, I was lucky to see one of the first dates of the Quid Pro Quo Tour in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and it was a very good show.

Tonight, 3 generations of Status Quo fans were gathering in front of the Olympia Bruno Coquatrix Hall waiting for a pure rock'n'roll show!

But there was one problem with the organization: there were no standing places, everyone was seated.

Is this rock'n'roll or what? It's OK for the people on the balcony to be seated, but on the pit?

The Quo entered the stage at the Olympia and everyone in there had only one thing in mind: rock'n'roll for the next two hours!

From the first note, everyone jumped off their seats and enjoyed the show standing, as it should have been.

For 1 hour and 40 minutes the Quo rocked the Olympia, with good humour and a good mood.
Francis Rossi was as usual very dynamic on stage, pulling faces while playing his solos and making jokes between the songs.
Jokes that not everyone understood, but he was prepared for that... after years of touring all over France...

There were some guys from the USA in the balcony, so Rossi tried out his best American English accent while talking and staring at them.

The setlist was the same as in Gelsenkirchen: hits, more hits, a couple of new songs (also hits!) but also some rarer stuff.
Of course they couldn't play all their well known songs, but still I don't think anyone was disappointed by this Rock'n'Roll longevity lesson.

After more than 40 years on the road, the Quo know how to rock. You're never too old to rock, and that's the lesson given tonight.

Long live Status Quo!
