The London Quireboys is a band I love.
I was so happy when I learnt that the were playing the Rock Of Ages Festival...
The only time I saw them before was in 2003, at the Serie Z Festival.
They played classics from the A Bit of What You Fancy album, which is my favourite.
7 O’Clock, Sweet Mary Ann, I Don’t Love You Anymore, Mona Lisa Smiled… We had great versions of those songs.
A Quireboys show is a big party.
Their unique bluesy sound mixed with Glam Rock makes this band something apart.
Guy Griffin’s solos and feeling get trough your spine and you can’t keep from moving, dancing and headbanging.
Spike is a great frontman and has got an incredible voice.
He changed clothes once during the show, going from a rocker businessman to a Pirate of the Caribbean.
Gotthard were scheduled to play after the Quireboys but they cancelled their show.
This allowed all the bands to play a few extra songs.
Finally The Quireboys played 13 songs, which is quite long for a festival.
The only regret would be the poor lightshow, but all the bands had the same, except Twisted Sister.
