Pinkpop Festival is a four hour drive from home, in the Netherlands, not far from the border with Belgium. |

It was still daylight when Ecstasy Of Gold began... and the band came on stage with Creeping Death! Just like in Werchter 2007, it was followed by For Whom the Bell Tolls, and by Ride The Lightning! |
Metallica had a really giant screen on the back of the stage, so everyone could see the show from anywhere. |
The sound was also very good. |
Metallica change often their setlists, so we had a few surprises besides the first 3 songs. |
Some of the best moments of the show were Fade To Black, The Four Horsemen and Master Of Puppets. |
During The Memory Remains it was amazing to hear the crowds singing. |
Quite strange, They didn't play any songs from their latest album, St Anger. |
The show ended with two insane cover songs: Last Caress from The Misfits and So What from Anti-Nowhere League. |
We drove back home with our heads full of music and good recent memories. To be honest I prefered Metallica's show at Werchter in 2007, but this one was incredible too! Setlist Metallica – Pinkpop Festival, Landgraaf, The Netherlands – May 30, 200801. Intro: The Ecstasy Of Gold (from The Good The Bad And The Ulgly) |
