British Metal Legends are on tour this summer 2011!

Only one week after the Judas Priest concert in Paris, Iron Maiden was taking the stage at Paris Bercy for two nights in a row.

This was my third concert date of The Final Frontier Tour 2011 after Bogotá and Frankfurt.

The Iron Maiden fan club makes a contest for most shows called First To The Barrier.
It allows the winners to enter the venue before the rest of the crowd so the can bet at the first row.

In Serbia for the Somewhere Back In Time I had the chance to win a First To The Barrier contest. Tonight, I was lucky to have it for the second time!
We were four friends with a First To The Barrier access. We could enter the venue around 5pm, earlier than the rest of the crowd. It was quite impressive to see Bercy empty: only the roadies and the security guys were around the stage.

There was a long wait as the people got in Bercy was finally filled. Both Iron Maiden concerts in Paris were sold-out.

Rise To Remain was the opening band.
Again, a family affair, after Lauren Harris.
Rise To remain singer is no other than Austin Dickinson. Sounds familiar? Right, he's the son of a certain Bruce...

The actually did well, but still it's not my favourite style.

Steve Harris in Paris

Finally, the time has come to witness The Final Frontier World Tour in France... there was an exciting movie showing space images while Satellite 15... then the band comes out and starts with the song The Final Frontier!

A general Euphoria invaded Bercy. It was hard to be at the barrier, I got compressed as many people wanted to take my place... but I stayed!

Dave Murray and Janick Gers in Paris

Bercy is a special place for Iron Maiden.
It's the largest indoors venue in France, and it's here where Maiden plays when they come here.

This time Iron Maiden played two concerts in a row in Bercy to promote the new album, The Final Frontier.

The last time this happened was in 1988 for Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son!

The Number Of The Beat - Iron Maiden live in Paris

OK, Maiden played twice at Bercy in 2008, but this wasn't for a new album. It was for the Somewhere Back In Time Tour.

Also, in 2005 they played the Parc des Princes stadium, but this was for The Early Days Tour.

No doubt that 2011 The Final Frontier is a huge success for Iron Maiden and 2011 is an amazing year for the band, with a Grammy Award and a tour around the world on board their plane, Ed Force One.

Nicko McBrain on drums - Iron Maiden live in Paris

The setlist was identical to the ones in Bogotá and Frankfurt.
Some of the highest moments were The Talisman and Dance Of Death, and of course those immortal classics like The Trooper, 2 Minutes To Midnight and Fear Of The Dark.

Union Jack flag on Janick's head for The Trooper - Iron Maiden live in Paris

Bruce adressed the crowds in french during the whole show, and that's something the French audience appreciates!

Sometimes he said a couple of words in English when he couldn't translate, but also at the end of El Dorado he said "Auf Wiedersehen" (Goodbye in German), promptly corrected with "Au revoir".
Oh, this tour contained 6 concerts in Germany and he was still thinking about them, probably.

Janick Gers under Eddie

Eddie came twice during the show. During The Evil That Men Do he walked on stage and went to tease Janick Gers.

There we a lot of funny moments, especielly when he ran under his legs, and almost made him fall down with the wire!

Later, a huge Eddie head with articulated fingers made an appearance during the song Iron Maiden.
It was impressive as usual, the Maiden guys really know how to make the crowds "scream for them"!

Steve Harris and Eddie - The Final Frontier

The night ended with 3 classic songs from the Early Days: the iconic The Number Of The Beast, the epic Hallowed Be Thy Name and the relaxed Running Free.

The show ended, but those who still wanted more had to come the next day, for the second show!
