Hammerfall were back with a new album to promote: No Sacrifice, No Victory.
To be honest I hadn't followed Hammerfall lately, and I came to this show mostly to see the opening act: Bullet.
But I got late at the Elysée Montmartre and missed that band.

Sabaton was the second opening band. They were OK.

This time Hammerfall didn't manage to sell out the Elysée Montmartre. There were maybe 800 people here tonight. Last time I saw them at this same venue was on the Stratovarius / Hammerfall tour and it was completly sold out.

One thing to note was that there was so many young people in the audience... There were lots of folks under 18.
This is great to see so many young people listening to this kind of music. Metal still rules!

Furthermore, Hammerfall isn't a recent band so it's good to see that they're having a new audience.

Hammerfall did a good show, but it wasn't exceptional.
They had an excellent sound and great lights, including holograms with the Hammerfall logo and other images.

They played well but I've seen them making better performances.
Sorry, but if you saw their Renegade Tour I think you'll agree with me.
There was some energy missing, like if they were just playing "one more gig".

Pontus Norgren from Hammerfall

The new musicians do a great job. Pontus Norgren says to feel better with Hammerfall than with The Poodles, and I think the band suits him well.
Of course I miss Stefan Elmgren and his bright leather clothes, but the new line up is really good.

I just hope to see them in better shape in some festival later this year. I know this band can do better than that!

By the way, sorry about the pictures, but I didn't bring my camera to that show. All these pics were taking with an iphone. That said... thay're not so bad for a mobile phone!
