After the fabulous Enuff Z’Nuff show, Faster Pussycat had the difficult task to headline this gig.

Well, those guys really play their rock star cards on stage.

Right before their show, the stage was covered by a black curtain. Then the Intro began and the curtain fell as the band started the first song.

Yes, that’s right, exactly the same as for a KISS show.

What a surprise to see Faster Pussycat’s new look!
They were all wearing black clothes, more inspired from a dark metal band than from the hard rock guys we were expecting.

It was surprising, and a good way to show that even if the band is playing small venues, they still can deliver a good visual show.

Well, there was one thing a bit shocking tough: Taime Downe has gained some weight, so wearing tight shirts does not suit him that good anymore.

The sound was way better than for Enuff Z’nuff and the band gave everything they had.
They also used more light during their performance.

All musicians were really into the show, headbanging, moving around the stage, and pulling faces to the audience.

Actually it was quite surprising to see the band with their new "industrial" sound. It remided me more of Marilyn Manson than of the Glam Rock days in the 80's.

But the band has evolved differently, and they're still good at what they do.

Danny Nordahl with Faster Pussycat

Faster Pussycat setlist was some king of best of.

Taime Downe said several times that he was really pleased to be in Paris (Well, technically, it was Savigny) for the first time.

He joked a lot about this fact, saying for example “We haven’t played this song since the last time we were here… which is never!”

When Taime Downe announced a drum solo, I thought “Oh no! If I’m going to miss my train back to Paris I’d like to hear another song rather a drum solo!”.

But the drum solo lasted 20 seconds: Taime and Xristian Simon left the sage, leaving Chad Stewart, Danny Nordahl and Michael Thomas as a trio.

They paid their tribute to The Ramones with a great version of Blitzkrieg Bop sung by Danny.

Faster Pussycat did a very good performance than night, for their very first concert in France.

The audience was also very receptive, as many people had been waiting this gig for years.

But the cool thing is that there were fans from all ages: Lots of young people around 18 along with lots of folks who started to listen to this music in the 80’s.

Faster Pussycat as a trio playing Blitzkrieg Bop Well, Brent Muscat and Greg Steele are not in the band anymore, but they made part of Faster Pussycat’s history.

Some people were talking about them not being there tonight, but you can’t ignore time, not many bands have nowadays their original line-up!

I loved Faster Pussycat’s concert, but to be honest I preferred Enuff Z’nuff. It’s just a matter of music tastes.

As soon as the show ended I ran to the train station with some other fans. We could catch the train back to Paris, and spent the whole journey talking about Faster Pussycat, Enuff Z’nuff, but also all those US bands that finally are starting to come and play in France: Winger, L.A. Guns, Jetboy, Twisted Sister… and I hope more to come.
