Enforcer album cover

The third Enforcer album is out now and believe me, and it will kick your ass!

Enforcer is one of those young bands inspired by the late 70’s Metal bands like the early Judas Priest, Tokyo Blade, Iron Maiden or even Mercyful Fate. This is about speed, twin guitars, killer riffs, perhaps with a little hint of punk influences for the energy.

It also means that there’s no make-up on the music: No keyboards (except for the piano intro called Bells Of Hades) or orchestrations. There aren’t even many backing vocals, and I think this could be worked out. Some choruses would sound even better with some extra backing vocals. They did it on Take Me Out Of This Nightmare, and the result is great.
The production is also very classic. It is served raw, no-frills, and you can clearly hear each instrument with a vintage touch. Just like the cover artwork: straight to the point.

Death By Fire begins with Death Rides This Night, which is one of the best tracks on the album. It has a full-speed rock riff and a vocal line that follows these frenzied guitars.
The riff of the second song, Run For Your Life, is quite similar to the one of the previous track. It can be considered as a negative point, but the truth is that it sounds so good, that you’ll quickly forget about it.
Crystal Suite is an excellent instrumental track. Its structure reminds me of Iron Maiden’s Genghis Khan, and that means high quality.

Later, there are two songs on the same track: Silent Hour is followed by The Conjugation, which is another instrumental piece. The result feels like one of those songs that end with a long and beautiful solo. It sounds epic.

Like in the old days, the album is short: 9 tracks, and 36 minutes of pleasure. It would have been perfect for an LP, with side A and side B.

So, why a young Swedish band like Enforcer takes brings back the Heavy Metal of the late 70's and early 80's?
Well, because hardly anyone plays this kind of Metal nowadays!
The bands that started in those days have evolved during the following 30 years, and since then, dozens of sub-genres of Metal were created.

So, do you miss the old days too? Then Death By Fire Enforcer is perfect for you!
