Devil's Train album cover

Hellriders be ready, here comes the Devil's Train!

Devil's Train debut album is one of the best surprises of the begining of the year.
The band plays a perect mix between Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. That means heavy guitars, fast solos loaded with feeling, a groovy rhythm section and a warm voice.

The mythic rhythm duo from Stratovarius is together again: Jörg Michael on drums and Jari Kainulainen on bass. Don't expect to hear the characteristic speed and double bass-drum of the Stratovarius days, Devil's Train is about groove, and these two musicians are as good in Rock as in Metal.

On vocals we have R.D. Liapakis, known for his work in the band Mystic Profecy. He does a great work and proves that he's got a very versatile voice. He's a good Heavy Metal singer, but these new horyzons suit him well.

Finally on guitars we have Lakis Ragazas. This guy gives the rock and bluesy touches that make the music of Devil's Train so characteristic.

Some songs are more metal, some are more rock, but they all have this thing called attitude. Roll The Dice and Room 66/64 are a great metal numbers, with killer riffs and and a very precise rhythm section.
Songs like To The Ground or Sweet Devil's Kiss give a different angle on the music, with an energetic rock sound.
The album contains a very nice power ballad called The Answers, a tune full of feeling that's definitely among my favourites.

The album ends with a cover song that everyone knows: American Woman by The Guss Who. Well, their version's got balls! So much balls that they even made a video.

Devil's Train start their career with a very promising album. It's good songs perfectly interpreted by experienced musicians. Now let's hope that a tour is coming next.
