Mark Osegueda with Death Angel at the Thrashfest Live at the Elysée Montmartre in Paris, France

Death Angel was one of the most awaited bands at the Thrashfest in Paris. And for good reason: this is a very experienced live band with a great feeling and energy.

From the beginning, the audience became crazy with their music. During the last song there was a huge circle pit in the first half of the Elysée Montmartre!

Mark Osegueda was wearing a very old Metallica shirt, from the Kill'em All era. I wonder if it's an original from 1981... He is really an amazing and powerful frontman. He headbangued during the whole show, and got as close as possible to the audience.
At some point, he shouted a “Thank You Paris” without using his microphone, and everyone at the first rows screamed at it!

There have been some line-up changes since the last time Death Angel were around.
None of the Pepa brothers is in the band anymore: Dennis Pepa has been replaced by Damien Sisson, a fast and afficient bass player who headbangs as fast as he plays.

The setlist was sort and didn't include some of Death Angel's greatest classics, like Thrashers or Kill As One. Anyway, we had other great classics with a few more recent songs.

They ended the last song with the very ending riff of Iron Maiden’s Hallowed Be Thy Name. After thanking the people, the band went backstage as Iron Maiden’s Wratchild was played through the loudspeakers.

Death Angel was absolutely great. Maybe it was a bit disappointing seeing them playing such a short set, but that’s how the tour was going. They’ll probably do a headlinging tour soon for the new album!

Now, time for another legendary thrash band to come on stage: the mighty Exodus!
