Years ago, I used to like Angra a lot. I love their first two records, especially Angels Cry, but I never really got into what they made after that. Moreover, I saw them a couple of times on stage, I must say that I was disappoined.

So, even if I was looking forward to see the band with Fabio Lione as a frontman, I wasn't expecting much from this show.

Well, actually Angra's true Rebirth is actually happening right now! Fabio has brought a renewed energy to the band. While he respects the original style, he's not a copycat of any previous Angra singer. He sings the songs in his own style, and it suits Angra perfectly.

But the newest member of the band isn't Fabio, but drummer Bruno Valverde. Angra has always hired extremely talented drummers and Bruno is no exception. In other words, this Angra line-up kicks ass!

The setlist was short but they played the right songs for a 50-minute festival show.
Angels Cry was a great choice to start, Nothing To Say sounded great, Spread Your Fire's solo was amazing, and of course, Carry On has still the power to make the fans go crazy.

I was very surprised and pleased to see Angra in such a good shape, in spite of a terrible sound.
I enjoyed every minute of this concert and, for the first time in more than 10 years, I can say that I'm looking forward to hear their next album!
