ALESTORM

The Heavy Metal pirates of Alestorm decided to invade Paris, by reaching the shores of Le Nouveau Casino on this autumn Saturday night.

The place was completely packed, and it was very very hot inside. And of course, very sweatie too. But that’s how a pirate tavern should be!!

Alestorm were opening for Sabaton, and actually I went to this concert for Alestorm, not for Sabaton. But actually Sabaton did a great show too.

Anyway, this was my first Alestorm concert and I thought they sounded good.

A friend of mine was seeing them for the third time and she said that they finally learnt to play the songs at the right tempo and not ultra-fast versions.

She said, and I trust her, that the first two times she saw Alestorm it wasn’t that good, but this time their performance was excellent.

It's true, they're a young band, but I think they did a great job!

Alestorm's line-up has a particularity which gives the band part of its essence: the singer Chrsitopher Bowes also plays keyboards.
Not many Metal bands do that, especially with a pink keyboard!

Alestorm's setlist comprised songs from all their albums. Among the highlights were Nancy The Tavern Wench, Over The Seas, The Quest and Keelhauled.
We even had the privilege to get a new song from Alestorm's upcoming record. It's called Rum, and it's for sure a future hit. In fact, it's already an hymn!
I'll hear you singing "Rum Rum Rum, give me more rum!" at the next summer festivals!
